Accelerate Cell Turnover and Refine Skin Texture with a Targeted Alpha Hydroxy Acid Treatment
ZO Skin Health® Exfoliation Accelerator is a leave-on chemical exfoliant formulated with a blend of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to accelerate the skin’s natural cell turnover process. By dissolving the bonds that hold dead skin cells on the surface, it progressively smooths uneven texture, improves skin tone, and restores a clearer, more radiant complexion.
Designed for use as part of a physician-supervised skincare regimen, it is particularly effective for patients with sun-damaged skin, uneven tone, or those seeking to enhance the results of their ZO Skin Health® treatment programme.
Apply to clean, dry skin in the evening as directed by your skincare provider. Use a cotton pad or fingertips to apply evenly across the face, avoiding the eye area. Allow to absorb fully before applying subsequent products. Do not rinse. Use SPF 30+ daily — AHA-containing products increase photosensitivity and the risk of sunburn.
Sunburn Alert: This product contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) that may increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure during use and for one week afterwards.
✔ Those with dull, uneven, or sun-damaged skin seeking progressive improvement
✔ Patients looking to enhance the efficacy of their ZO Skin Health® treatment regimen
✔ Those with uneven skin texture or tone who require a leave-on chemical exfoliant
✔ Suitable for use under the guidance of a skincare provider as part of a supervised programme
The Enzymatic Peel combines enzymatic and chemical exfoliation in a rinse-off or short-contact format, making it suitable for periodic use. The Exfoliation Accelerator is a leave-on AHA treatment designed for regular evening use to progressively accelerate cell turnover over time. Your skincare provider will advise which is most appropriate for your skin.
Frequency is determined by your skincare provider based on your skin type, tolerance, and treatment goals. Most patients begin with alternate-evening use, progressing to nightly application as tolerance develops.
Some patients may experience mild flaking during the initial weeks of use as cell turnover accelerates. This typically subsides as the skin adjusts. If significant irritation occurs, reduce frequency and consult your provider.
Combining AHAs with retinol or prescription retinoids should be done under the guidance of your skincare provider to avoid over-exfoliation and barrier disruption.
Improvement in skin texture and tone is typically noticeable within 4–8 weeks of consistent use. More significant improvements in sun damage and pigmentation develop over several months.
